"In today’s highly interdependent world, individuals and nations can no longer resolve many of their problems by themselves. We need one another. We must therefore develop a sense of universal responsibility. It is our collective and individual responsibility to protect and nurture the global family, to support its weaker members, and to preserve and tend to the environment in which we all live."
                                                                                               - The Dalai Lama

True education is concerned only peripherally with the acquisition of skills and knowledge. Holistic education is concerned principally with educating and nurturing the inner-being, because the state of the inner-self determines the quality of the functioning and operation of the individual in the field of thought and action.

The structure, design and curriculum of BMS strive to remain in harmony with its expressed intent. Over the years it has evolved into an entity that embodies this intent. The qualitative growth of the School is an established fact. But the sustenance and deepening of this growth is today threatened by stultification at the fiscal level. With its avowed policy of retaining small student numbers and its desire to keep school fees comparatively low, the School is compelled to turn to other sources to build a Corpus fund that will

(i) Buffer the devastating impacts of inflationary onslaughts, and
(ii) Provide enough funds for a quantitative growth as well.

BMS receives no grant-in-aid from the government or any other source. Salaries and other relevant/need-based expenses are met through the fees. If you harbour concern for the world that our children will inherit tomorrow; if you would like to contribute to social change; if you would like to contribute to an extra-ordinary school dedicated to children and their happiness now and in the future, your support to The Blue Mountains School is well-placed.

You could consider supporting/building the Corpus fund through a philanthropic contribution every year for 3-5 years. Amounts as small as a thousand rupees or more would be highly appreciated. The choice is yours – you could make a large one-time contribution.

You could also choose to make a contribution that would support/upgrade a particular activity/department or for the maintenance/restoration of the estate and its heritage buildings; repairing the houses of our ground staff; repairing the ‘yellow dorm’; restoring the old house at the top so that we can have a guest-house etc.

Don’t throw away all those unwanted books at home – the School library could use them.

We would be happy to receive educational kits (from all over the world), dealing with various subjects.

Corpus funding and other contributions of choice within India or from abroad should be made to ‘F.G. Pearce Educational and Charitable Trust’ payable Ootacamund.
